Inspiration

Send your most beautiful shots with a comment and position from where the shot is taken. Send in example of photos with low quality for a first glance from kayakr.net before sending high quality photos. The shots shall have:

  • Sharp focus and good, clear composition.
  • Good contrast with rich, vivid color
  • Proper exposure

Destinations

Have a look at one of the existing destinations, for examle Göteborg – Marstrand/Pater Noster. Focus should be on photos. The text should consist of maximum 1000 words. The destination article shall include facts, a similar ingress as shown and a google map. You can scan a map with the route and add it to the text but I prefer if you do the route as a track in google maps. Kayakr.net will convert the scanned map to a google map.

  • Estimated time: approx days or hours
  • Start/Finish: location + GPS-position
  • Distance: in km or miles
  • Map: name of map and index number, a link where to get it
  • Nautic chart: name of chart and index number, a link where to get it
  • Difficulty level: novice / intermediate / advanced level
  • Must see/do: extra ordinary things to see or do such as beautiful scenery or something of cultural, geographical or unique local interests.

A short ingress that descirbes the tour. “This trip is recommended for you who is an experienced kayakr. The distance is quite long and you are also exposed to some rough water even in calm weather conditions. The reward is the environment you are paddling through and of course the light house “Pater Noster” at Hamneskär and the harbour of Marstrand.”

Send a mix of 10-15 photos in low quality for a first check from kayakr.net. Kayakr.net will then choose 4-5 pics and contact you to send them in high quality. In order of importance:

  • On-the-water shots of paddlers actively paddling, with a scenic backdrop unique to the paddling location.
  • Panoramic or scenic shots that don’t necessarily show paddlers, but that give a feel for the geography of the area.
  • Shots of paddlers doing things like reading charts, setting up camp, launching, fishing, exploring caves, or something specific to the area.
  • Shots of flowers,  scenery or culture particular to the area paddled.

Tent Spots

Send GPS coordinaties according to WPS84. Also send information about protection from wind, how many tent that will fit. Which directions are protected from wind? How easily is the landing? Anything else of interest, such as cultural or scenic information. A nice photo which describe the campingsite and with a scenic backdrop is always appreciated.

Start positions

Send GPS coordinaties according to WPS84 and a picture of the position. Also send  information about access to/from and possibilites parking a car.
