Welcome to kayakr.net. My name is Peter Svensson. I live in Göteborg, Sweden. The purpose with kayakr.net is to give a glimpse of how wonderful kayaking in Scandinavia can be.
I started my paddling career in Abel Tasman Park, New Zealand, in 1998. After that very short paddle trip to the Split Aplle Rock I was hooked to Sea Kayaking immediately and have kept paddling ever since. My main focus has always been on seakayaking but I’m also trying to learn some white water kayaking aswell.
I’m a certfied assistant instructor according to the Scandinavian Kayak Instructor Program (NIL). I have been an active seakayaking instructor in Näsets Canoe Club, in Göteborg. I have written some paddling articles for the swedish paddling magazine Paddling as well as I have been blogging in my Swedish blog petersvensson.com since 2007. Now I have started to practice my English skills with kayakr.net . 🙂
I have had the privilege to paddle quite a few places in Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark). This year, in addition to my usual travels in south of Sweden, I plan to travel to the Stockholm Archipelago and also to Wales in UK.
Hopefully you are enjoying kayakr.net and are finding inspiration here when you are planning your next vacation. Scandinavia is truly remarkable and beautiful. It is well worth coming here for a kayak trip. I will post more trip suggestions, destinations and also keep blogging about my own kayaking activities. The posts will be updated during the summer.
